Lafayette KOA offers a special. We pay for three nights and get the fourth night free. Today is our extra day. What do we do? The locals are fishing for perch. There are no charter boat opportunities here. The Gulf of Mexico is too far away. We decide to drive to Morgan City. We hope that Route 90, away from the city, is scenic. It is not scenic and it is not in good shape. John comments, “It feels like we have spent the day in a cement mixer!” At Morgan City, we again inquire about chartering a fishing boat.
