We spent the night of the 17th in the Upper Caney Lake State Park, another COR park. This was a kind of out of the way destination, but roved to be a really nice state park. The last 2 nights were at the Joe Mayse west campground, another COE park. We had intended to stay at the Bonham national forest campground, but it was totally booked according to Rec.gov so I went out on a limb and we headed for this park. Jul 9, 2011 - Minden

We arrived in Minden at 5:30 on Saturday, the first day of the trip. Weather was Hot HOt HOT, really HOT. The park was locted at Goodwill Road and I-20 and did not have what it advertised, 30 amp service. So we were left with only 15 amp service which limited our electrical use - no TV. This was a really Bad park. Won't be here again. On Sunday we did get to see our old haunts - the Lake Claiborne House, Springhill, and Henry's Mother and Dad's graves at the Salem UMC Church. May 23, 2008 - Minden, LA

Cypress Black Bayou Campground. On our way to Florida to visit Wendy, Gary, Dylan, Jamie, Brandon, and Hailey. First leg of our trip East and to go up the East Coast. Staying here for few days. Went to the Mud Bug Festival down on the Red River in Bossier City and Carol had some Crawfish and I opted out.
