09Jan13 -We are booked at Lakeside RV Park for two nights. We plan to spend a day touring the New Orleans area. It was a fine mist most of the way, very overcast and cloudy. We arrived around 2:00PM, setup, lunch, Gene and KC are now napping happily in his chair! Looks like we are in for some heavy rain so we are happy to be settled. 10Jan13 - Not sure what today will bring as far as touring New Orleans goes because it is supposed to be stormy most of the day. We will see...may have to revise our plans. Well today brought rain all day and...

1-2-13 LAKESIDE RV PARK, LIVINGSTON, LA We stayed two nights at Lakeside RV Park on the way across the gulf to Alabama. It rained the first day, but it cleared up the second day and we drove to Camping World about 15 miles away. We love going to Camping World since our Girls are welcome to go inside and shop with us.

Mar 29, 2012 - LIVINGSTON, LA
We stopped at Livingston, LA at Lakeside RV Park. We had a back-in site on an 18 acre lake. The temperatures are in the 80’s daytime with 60’s at night. I fished several times catching small bass. This is a very nice campground with a beautiful view on the small lake.

As we passed through Mobile, AL on our way to our usual "first night out" place, Lakeside RV Park, in Livingston, LA, we got a pretty good shot of the Mobile skyline as well as our route through the tunnel at Mobile. We ran into some really heavy rain and strong winds in western Alabama and through Mississippi, so it was some pretty slow going. We sure were glad to get into our site and wait the storm out!

Feb 23, 2012 - On The Road, Alabama To Louisiana
Livingston, LA. 68 deg. overcast, no wind. Forecast = Partly cloudy. Fog early. High of 79F. Winds from the WNW at 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Chance of rain 20%. I was just about ready to pull out of my site when Jim took CLT and headed over to the office at the Plantation. You see, when you stay at an SKP park, you don't pay for your site until you're leaving. That way, if you extend for another week, (like we did), it really doesn't make any difference, you just pay for the days that you've stayed plus any electricity that you've...

Drove back to the trailer in time to see the Super Bowl. Went by Oxford, Mississippi where Old Miss (University of Mississippi) where Eli Manning played football. He still maintains home there in the off season. He had given money for the Eli Manning Children’s Clinics at Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson Mississippi. Sounds like a good guy!

Longer distance from Jacksonville to Pensacola Florida than from Florida to Louisiana. Went thru Mobile Alabama and Beloxi Mississippi. Interesting note is that Mardi Gras was started in Mobile. All the towns along the gulf have their own version of Mardi Gras.

Apr 12, 2011 - I'm aTravelin' man (and woman)
We left Gulf State park yesterday and guess what? The sun was shining! Oh well. On our way up to I-10 we stopped at Mart Woods house and had another wonderful time with Mart and her niece Gretchen. We have decided that Mart is delightfully ditsy. This is really an endearing term, she is a delight. Then we really hit the road and we are just east of Baton Rouge La. We are staying in a beautiful private campground with a site on the lake. This is how I would keep a campground. The grounds are kept up like Disney World (or Land for you left...

Friday- Drove to Port Allen first to look at the Old Ferry landing along the Mississippi river, not a lot to see, but you could see across to Baton Rouge, we had ended up going to the wrong visitor centre first thing, was on the LSU Campus ( Louisiana State University) they had a Tiger there it is their Mascot for their Football, the poor thing was pacing around the enclosure, loads of school kids there when we arrived all the noise probably upset him. Back to Baton Rouge water front to see the USS Kid Destroyer, did not go on it though....

Livingston not far from Baton Rouge which we will be going to on Friday. Beautiful RV Park on a lake, there are 2 swans on it Black one called Midnight & White one called Snowflake. See lovely sunsets here reflecting over the lake. Today ( Thursday )we had to take the RV in for some repairs, not a good day as found out the extended warranty we took out was not right it's getting sorted and that's another story too long to tell now. Well the repairs were all fixed,it's just a lot of messing around having to take it off the campsite and back...

Apr 12, 2010 - On the Road Again - Livingston, LA
After a very uneventful day on the road, we stopped overnight at what is becoming our "home away from our winter home" so to speak! The accommodations are good, the price is right, and we don't have to unhook the Jeep! Always a plus on overnight stays.

Well, after 4 months we have finally left Texas. We spend almost as much time there as we do at home in Pennsylvania. We are in Livingston, LA at Lakeside RV Park. We were here back in early December and got snowed on. Today it is in the 70's and the sun is shining brightly. The swans, Snowflake and Nightnight, are out on the lake enjoying the beatiful weather. It seemed that all the cops in Louisiana were on patrol today on I-10. We also saw numerous crawfish farms along the highway. We'll be off to Alabama in 2 days.
