Oct 16, 2010 - Texas to Grand Isle, Louisiana

Cotton and Rice were being harvested in Texas and Louisiana. Oil was being pumped in several of the Texas areas as well. A few flocks of ducks were seen but it appears to be early for the larger flights. Louisiana had sugarcane harvest in full motion. Our journey to Grand Isle, Louisiana was very scenic through cypress swamps and tidal marshes. We saw a Bear crossing sign but the bears seemed to be staying out of sight. Jul 11, 2010 - Gulf Coast Oil Damage

July 9, 2010 - Today was our first ride on the Harley since we trailered it from San Diego. It was a terrific, scenic, non-rainy day to ride. - The Gulf Coast oil damage to Grand Isle is immeasurable in terms of monetary and emotional pain. I saw empty streets, closed businesses, languishing rental units with no occupants, LA National Guard troops working on the beach and driving the streets.
