We left Galveston this a.m. and had an easy drive to Cajun Haven RV Park. It was slightly over 200 miles which is our desired mileage for the day when traveling. I had checked it out on RV Park Reviews as an OK one night stop, at least I thought I had. After paying a reasonable price for FHU at $20, the park guide had us follow him in his truck over some of the worst, rutted roads I have ever seen. Because of all the rain they had had, the ruts were all full of water too, so no way to see how deep they were. I have no pictures of this park...

Feb 25, 2011 - Drive to Egan, LA

After a fantastic week and a half visit at Fountainebleau State Park, we finally decided it was time to explore new territory. There were so many fun things to do in the area that it was hard to leave. Our favorites were riding the bike path to lunch - there was town about 6 miles either way on the Tammany Bike Path so we could have a short half hour ride to lunch. We also really enjoyed seeing the wildlife - baby alligators in the swamp and the ponds, a horned owl and her baby, coots, tons of birds. We even had a raccoon or opossum get...
