Mar 17, 2010 - RV park and cemetery in Breaux Bridge

These are pictures from our park in Carencro, LA called Bayou Wilderness RV Park. Very nice place and off the beaten path, so it is quiet here. We stopped by the cemetery to take the rest of the pictures because they have to bury people above ground down here, due to flooding. Folks are very friendly here. We enjoyed our time and will now move on to Florida. Till next time... Nancy and Steve

Mar 16, 2010 - Cajun Country

Hello from Louisiana! It seems odd not to be in Texas, but here we are at Bayou Wilderness RV Park. The pictures are from our trip here. The big city scenes are from Lake Charles and the bog pictures are from crayfish farms. It was a rainy, cloudy day, but a good trip and the park is very nice. We hope to sample the Cajun cuisine and maybe a tour of the river...alligator anyone??? Fondly, Nancy and Steve

Jan 8, 2008 - Carencro, LA

Jan. 8, 2008 We leave our good friends in Gulf Shores, AL and head west to spend the rest of the winter in Texas. First stop is Carencro, LA. We learn from friends that there is a great restaurant there that we should visit. True enough - PreJeans... Very famous seafood (mostly cajun style). We also make a day trip to Avery Island, Home of "Tabasco". The gift shop there is awesome. Have you ever had "Tabasco" Ice Cream...?? I believe I taste tested just about everything there that was available...LOL
