Feb 6, 2013 - 48 Years...Wow!
It is hard to believe, even for us, but today marks 48 awesome years of marriage. Wowser! Thanks a million for all the notes, calls and congratulations we received. A very special thank you to Lindsay, Jerry, Barb and Greg for sending us a picture of a special toast for us. That was awesome! We decided to spend our time this year in Louisiana. We didn't really plan anything special, our gift for both of us was a new computer. The one we had was so old and tiny, it was about to crash. We got a 23" Gateway OneTouch. It is incredible! We had a...

Jun 17, 2012 - Bossier City
Our time in Bossier City was mostly spent relaxing because our main objective of being in Bossier City so long was to drive to Baton Rouge for the USBC Open. We gambled some - no big wins but no big losses. A day at the Lousiana Boardwalk - a trip to Barksdale AFB - and enjoying the pool and exercise room at Diamondjack. Not much to report but do enjoy the pictures please. God bless Ken and Fran

Nov 13, 2011 - Where is my money?
So, after spending the day at the Syrup Festival yesterday, I get home and my "crazy midget neighbor Pam" (that's what Fred calls her and since he told her that's her nickname, it's not slander...she likes it!) wants to go to the Casinos in Bossier City! So being the good neighbor that I am and feeling like the Syrup Festival was a bust, I say "why not?" She's bringing a friend with her so I call my sister and she's game, so we take off for a girl's night out at the casino! Pam's a gambler, I am not (at least not a good one)! After hitting...

Sep 25, 2011 - Bossier City, Louisiana
Since we was here last year we wasn't interested in the tourist things and we was tired of casinos so we spent our time catching up on things we needed to accomplish and also visiting different RV parks to check them out. These are the parks that say they can handle big rigs. So for all of our RVing friends here is what we discovered ----- *Tall Pines RV Park in Shreveport - it was ok, easy off and on IH20 and the sites up front where they put the big rigs are pull thrus with cement pads. A possible place. *Barksdale AFB - such a...

Apr 14, 2009 - Bossier City , Louisiana
It was not quite as busy as expected a we took a break by accident we missed the turn off and my gps showed us a way to take 50 miles off our drive ,it was an excellent scenic route. All the movies I have seen seem to portrait Oklahoma as a dust bowl but it is very nice to drive through the well treed rolling hills through this Oklahoma , Texas and Louisiana area. The Red River Mustang Club will be the host of this evenings festivities A southern barbecue was served up around a mardi gras themed evening. The news is that we will be 600 plus...

Oct 25, 2008 - Barksdale AFB, LA.
Kathy and I drove up from Houston to Shreveport. Kath's Mom is selling her house and moving into a "retirement home". So there was lots to do. We always fly into Houston from Anch & we keep our truck there too. Kath's twin sister Gwen, lives there also. Pulled the travel trailer out of storage at Barksdale AFB. We visited w/ family for about a week, then pressed on East. Our oldest son lives here now, so visiting family in Shreveport takes on a new meaning now. Next stop, the Winnsboro, LA.

Mar 28, 2002 - Drive to Bossier City, Louisiana
Today I drove my Chinook to Bossier City, in the Shreveport area, to meet a first cousin, Sam Golihar, whom I had never met. I was also pleased to meet his wife, Virginia. I had hoped to meet his sons and grandchildren, but only the older son was available. Sam is the second son of my mother’s oldest sister, Hattie. Aunt Hattie died in her mid-20s, leaving Sam and his older brother and younger sister, all of whom were under the age of six. They were reared by his paternal grandparents and had almost no contact with Aunt Hattie’s side of the...
