Jul 14, 2018 - Union, Kentucky

I have been very lazy about doing updates to the Journal lately. This is a huge catch-up. We left Paxico on the 4th of July and made a couple of stops on our way to Union, Kentucky. We stopped in Maryland Heights, Missouri at the Hollywood Hotel, we made another stop in Indiana and finally made it to Union, Kentucky on the 7th. We stayed at Betty’s for four days before moving to Vickie’s. Betty’s new apartment is absolutely beautiful and it’s only a few minutes away from Vickie’s. We are house sitting at Vickie and Ed’s home and taking care...

Dec 25, 2012 - Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful week with Ed, Vickie and Sammy. Talk about hospitality, Ed and Vickie know how to make you feel at home. Jerry and I have been lazy all week, I have not even washed a dish. They won't let us do anything. :-) We got up this morning and opened all our presents. It was so nice to spend Christmas morning with family and get to watch Sammy open all his gifts. He got everything he had wished for and more. After opening all the gifts, we sat down to another wonderful breakfast. Vickie had started working on breakfast the night...

Sam and I have played games for hours, I know all about Skylanders now. Sammy and Vickie have been busy baking cookies for Santa. Vickie also made macaroons and buckeyes for the family. May 31, 2010 - Family Rally, Big Bone Lick State Park

Today we restarted our journey to the Maritimes. But first, there was a family rally near Cincinnati. We had plenty of food, warm weather and no rain. The cousins played together with the marshmallow guns exhausting the supply of ammunition. Believe me, the ants were having a hay day after we left. The marshmallow guns (1/2 inch PVC pipe and fittings)got transformed into rocket launchers which turned out to be a second fun activity. Adults mainly sat and talked. We are very fortunate to have had this family rally. We look forward to...

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We went to church with Ed, Vickie and Sammy. We got to meet a lot of their wonderful friends and the pastor and his wife. They also had the Easter egg hunt today, Sammy was ready for war, he ran around like crazy picking up those eggs. :-) They were all over the church lawn. I am happy to report he also won, he got a huge basket full of goodies. After church we all went to Ed & Vickie’s for another awesome dinner. Vickie is a wonderful cook. She had a delicious spread on the table for Easter, we all...

We have arrived in Union, Kentucky. The first thing we did was drive to Sammy’s school and pick him up. He will be staying with us in the RV for the next ten days. Vickie and Ed met us at the school with Sam’s suitcase etc. Everything he will need for his visit with us. The school had a huge parking area large enough for us to park the RV. We are looking forward to spending time with Vickie, Ed and Sammy. Let the fun begin! :-)
