We are in Paintsville, KY, visiting Harold & Lorena. Have not seen them for two years. They both are from this area so we are getting the royal tour. Loretta Lynn was born and raised here in "Butcher Holler" she was the "Coal Miners Daughter" (movie & true story) for you non-country western fans. Very beautiful area, much to see. Having a great time!!!!! Tuesday we head to Lexington to the Kentucky Horse Park. Ron & Jean

Jul 1, 2009 - Country Music Highway

A trip to Kentucky turns up little history and no music - Wednesday, July 1 On Wednesday we set out for Kentucky. Our purpose was to find a Staples in Pikeville, and to see the Country Music Highway Museum in Paintsville. We accomplished both goals, restocking our office supplies and finding Madolyn a new camera at Staples, and finally running down the Country Music Highway Museum which is a well kept secret in Paintsville. We saw a little of eastern Kentucky along the way, but the Country Music Highway was something of a disappointment...
