Jul 8, 2008 - Should be home in the next day or so!

After so many long travel days, we are taking a couple of days to relax by the lake before making the final trek home. Three hundred miles in the motorhome is a long journey so will meander our way back to Crossville and hopefully arrive sometime soon. We're movin' home!

Oct 28, 2007 - Fort Defiance

FORT DEFIANCE and a dinner of 'POND RAISED CATFISH' Sunday, October 28 We achieved two big milestones today. We got our first look at Kentucky and we passed the 10,000 mile mark on our trip. We woke to the sounds of traffic on the river, barge tows and freight trains going up and down the Mississippi. And yet it all seems peaceful enough, and normal for a Sunday morning . Sep 27, 2007 - Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN

Thursday, September 27, 2007 We drove down to The Homeplace, a living history farm of a rural family in 1850 on the land between what were called the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers, now called Land Between the Lakes. The buildings were all moved here from other places within this geographical area. The lakes are two long, skinny lakes that set this land apart. The livestock are representative of the animals on a mid-19th century farm and the seeds grown in the fields are heirloom varieties. Historic interpreters dressed in period clothing...
