Jul 9, 2010 - Land Between the Lakes
The first stop of the day is our usual visit to the Ford Dealership in Paducah, KY. The battery light had been coming on intermittently and, it turns out, it needs a new alternator. While we wait, we are taken to the local mall where we shop and have lunch. Then back to the dealership to wait (they had to send someone fifty miles to pick up the part). Beginning Mileage 85573 Ending Mileage 85714 Cypress Lakes RV Park, Exit 27 on I-24, Calvert City, KY 270-395-4267 7.5/7/6.5 $23/nt Today we are underway at 10:00am. Our trip is uneventful but when we arrive at the campground where we have reservations, it is horrible. We decide to go down the road about four miles to the next exit which is Calvert City, KY. Feb 17, 2006 - Land between the Lakes
Land between the Lakes in Kentucky is a National Recreation Area which is located in Western Kentucky and Tennessee and covers 170,000 acres. Within the Land Between the Lakes Area there is an Elk & Bison Prairie a habitat restoration project, which demonstrates how the region once looked during the time of Daniel Boone. We spent two days exploring the area then we had a major snow storm which we sat out for two days.
