March 27th We negotiated the mountain driving and arrived at the campground about 30 miles west of Charleston, WV, in Milton, WV. Gail's sister Debbie and her husband Dave recently bought a new (to them) house in Hurricane, WV. We had strongly hinted to them that they shouldn't buy any house that didn't have an RV site, with full hookups. Oct 20, 2006 - Along the Ohio River

It seems like so long ago that we left the Covered Bridges. We have been driving along and the scenery just keeps on getting better. Last night we spent the night in Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio. The campground we stayed at would have been so nice if we could just stop the rain but no such luck. It was still a very pretty place and I snapped a few pictures before we left this morning. We really felt like we were in the south when we saw the water tower as soon as we got to Kentucky. The Beginning

We spent two nights at John's newphew Randi's place in California, Kentucky. We had to drive in from Wheeling, WV that day. It was a very easy run of about five hours driving time. I had no regrets leaving Wheeling as I really did not like it there. It was a very old city and very difficult to get around in, as well as they close up the streets by 6 pm.
