May 27, 2017 - Searching for Toto

This has been quite an unusual travel day for me. I wanted to see OU softball and because it is much more fun to watch with other OU fans, decided to stay at Glenn and Suzy’s to watch the game. First pitch was at noon Central time and the game didn’t end until almost 2:30. YAY!!!! SOONERS WON! No more OU games now until the beginning of the WCWS on Thursday. It was pretty cool that at the end of the game the OU announcer pointed out the team was headed to Exit 132A (I think a commentary on local familiarity with that exit in Oklahoma City)...

Aug 28, 2016 - Oklahoma City to Kansas

Today was mostly a driving day. Lots of boring Interstate, but at least most road surfaces were good and we made fair time. When we arrived at Wilson State Park and selected a campsite, we decided to walk back to the self-pay station to drop off our check. Turned out to be farther (and the sun hotter) than we realized, but was good to get a little exercise after a couple of days spent mostly sitting. Oct 22, 2012 - Wilson State Park

Today we visited Wilson State Park, another beautiful park in the area. It is located on the south side of Wilson Reservoir. The park is divided into two areas: Hell Creek and Otoe. Primitive and utility camping sites are available, as well as several cabins with electricity and plumbing. We saw a few people in the cabins, but the rest of the park was empty. Some of the sites are available on a monthly rate for up to 8 months. We have been pleasantly surprised at how many great Corps of Engineer & State Parks are in this area of Kansas....
