Today we are off to Castle Rock, we get back on I-70 west a short distance to the Quinter exit. This is one of those exits that the pavement ends right at the exit. South we go on the gravel roads. We go past a couple of large, new homes on some old ranches. Everything you see is old except the house. Old barns, old trucks and farming equipment. But a large new house. Across the road we see the ruins of an old limestone house with no roof. The wood from the roofs were salvaged decades ago. Here we go 13 miles south then 5 miles east, then 3...

Kansas 2014

Apr 21, 2012 - Castle Rock, Kansas

Our next stop was Castle Rock. It is also on private land and you definitely do not want to drive into this area if it has been raining or might rain while you are there. The roads are just awful and there are huge ruts in the road. At one point our truck was tilted sideways as Lee tried to maneuver around a particularly precarious spot. I think a jeep might have been useful.
