We left from Albany on Thursday morning and it was really foggy. For the first two hours all I could do was 35 miles an hour. We had difficulty finding a campground. One we went in was at some sand dunes and there was hundreds of ATV. We declined to stay. Other campgrounds we went to didn't have any spaces wide enough for us. So we ended up driving 500 miles to Cheney Lakes Campground. While we were there we visited with Ken Cowles who is a regular on the Hitchhiker forum that I frequent. We even had dinner together. Aug 2, 2006 - Little House on the Prairie
One of our goals when we started this life style, was to visit all the "Little House on the Prairie" sites. Today, we checked off one of them, the actual Little House southwest of Independence, Kansas. I'm not sure what temperature was reached today, but it was either close to or over 100 degrees. Ever since "Little House on the Prairie" was first published in 1935, readers have always wondered just where the little house was located.
