May 18, 2008 - Newton, KS - A Day of Rest

(Elena Writing) We attended Sunday School and church service at the First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson, KS. The Graduating Class of 2008 were presented and honored during the service. Each of the 7 graduates gave a short talk on their plans for the future. They expressed their gratitude to those who were instrumental in their lives. The pastor had a meaningful message for them and the congregation. This church is the oldest Protestant church in Hutchinson. After lunch we drove about 40 miles east via H-50 to Newton KS. Jul 3, 2007 - Day 4

odometer reading: 84052 Today, after receiving a good night sleep, we had coffee outside and let the dogs play in the backyard. Bidding the family goodbye (THANK YOU!!!) We were on the road around 8:30 am and took US35 out of Kansas City and to Hwy 50. Our first stop on the way was Newton, KS. We had to stop and get a picture of our Newton with something in the city with Newton on it. This was the fire station on the corner of Oak Street and third street. They were very nice to us and laughed when we told them what we wanted.
