Sleeping in a racquetball court may not give you the best night's rest, no matter how unique and quirky the experience might be!! Aug 12, 2009 - Driving through rain on the Great Plains

Commited to a return date in San Diego, I was to unable explore the area as I would have liked. That calls for another trip to these parts. We drove through Kansas City and into Kansas, staying at the Corps of Engineers campground on Perry Lake. From there it was on to Cedar Bluffs State Park. Then I took rural road 96, a route with no traffic, past grain fields and ranches, dotted with historical markers spelling out events and locations.
