Oct 29, 2012 - TIRED

Good morning! This is actually the 30th but missed an entry last night as we didn't get in until about 10:45! I found a dentist in Rapid City, SD...he drilled out the sharp part of my tooth and gave me a prescription! I am happy to say that I am feeling soooooo much better this morning! It is another long drive today - will end up in Houston and we are there for 2 nights. Gail comes in tomorrow so will get to the airport to pick her up! Tracy drove for the better part of the day yesterday - I finished up for the night drive! Today, I will...

Aug 13, 2011 - We're Still In Kansas Toto

Hi everyone: I’ll bet you thought we were going to give you a “pass” in Kansas; with no pictures and no text. NOT A CHANCE. If we’re going to drive through this state, you’re coming along. ********Actually when you get passed the flat and boring drive it is quite an experience to see the “Breadbasket of America” up close and personal. We started early and drove East on I-70 for over 150 miles through farms, farms and yes farms! Kansas grows wheat, corn, milo (also known as sorghum), soy beans and sunflowers – yes sunflowers. ****...

Nov 16, 2010 - Late again:)

Just a quick update - We pulled out of the farm for the last time Tuesday, Nov 9. The fifth wheel was loaded and I drove the jeep pulling our little trailer. We made it to our daughter's in McPherson about 9pm, exhausted, but very happy to be moving on to the next "phase" in our adventure. Wes is such a perfectionist. We can't just stack stuff in the storage container, we have to have shelves for everything and it has to be organized! So he has been working on that for a week now. He thought he would be done last night, but I think we...

May 24, 2010 - Milleson Farms

We had a beautiful day for our move about 120 miles to Milleson Farms. And then it rained for a few days. Sure glad we arrived when we did because the road got muddy again:) I had been having some problems with my computer and needed to install Windows 7, so Wes contacted his nephew in Salina and he agreed to fix it. It sure is nice to have a computer "geek" in the family. It only took him a couple of days to get everything up to date and repaired. Thanks Mike!! My Syn Visc injections have worn off about six weeks before the six month...

Sep 28, 2009 - McPherson, KS

We travel to McPherson, KS today and start our journey along the Santa Fe Trail. We had nice weather for traveling and enjoyed a somewhat leisurely day of travel. The only glitch we encountered was locating the campground once we got to McPherson. Our usual precise directions didn't take into account a change in road names and after stopping at a gas station we were escorted to the campground by a rather nice local gentleman whose comment was "I'm going that way anyway." It's nice to know that there are still people out there who will go...

Sep 30, 2006 - Wichita

Saturday, September 30, we drove to Wichita to see relatives. We arrived at the USI campground about 6:00 pm. We stay there every time we go to Wichita. That evening we went to near-by Strouds for a chicken dinner. Sunday we met Sue, Stan, Shanna, Sinda, Dave, the two little ones and Shanna's friend at Applebees for lunch. We returned to the RV in time to see the last half of the Chiefs winning their first game this season. Monday morning we left the campground and searched for the Lab One location to have Carol's blood tested. Then we...

Sep 22, 2006 - Home again...

We arrived at our daughter's home in McPherson on Sunday evening, Sept 3. We spent an enjoyable day with them on Labor Day and then Wes had a dentist appointment early on Tuesday morning. After that, we headed on west to the farm. We arrived to a beautiful green farm! It had rained quite a bit while we were gone. The rain is wonderful, but the down side is that things grow! The grass etc. was all really tall. So, right away we got out the mower and started mowing things. I got the yard done and Wes got the satellite set up. Then we started...

Jun 20, 2006 - Salina, Kansas

Pita's Diary - Salina Kansas - Overnighter Monday It was a long day in the truck. We left Colorado Springs at 6:28 am Mountain Time and arrived at the Church Campground at 4:10 pm Central Time. We were pretty lucky with the wind. It wasn't outrageous as some of our friends experienced a couple days ago when the came through on their way to the Rally. One big problem, though, the air conditioning isn't working right. We packed the fans from the camper so it isn't too bad, but like the lady said when we registered, "Welcome to hot, windy...
