Sep 10, 2012 - Travel day - Mayetta, Kansas

A very mixed emotions day - happy to be on the road again but very sad leaving family behind. We enjoyed our time in Bellevue with the kids and know we will see them at Christmas time. The day was ok for travel, dry roads but a lttle windy. So we were happy it was a short trip. Have fun and stay safe! God Bless Ken and Fran

Jun 18, 2010 - Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Prarie Bend Casino

We drove from Russell, KS to Mayetta KS by way of Wamego, KS. Wamego is a nice little town that reminded us of Utica, MI. Many houses looked similar and there was a nice big park. It is also home to the OZ museum and the OZ Winery. We toured the museum, pictures attached and then did some wine tasting. We purchased 2 bottles of wine. Soon to be consumed. We then headed to Prairie Bend Casino. Seafood Buffet for dinner. $25 each in Prairie dollars each and the camping is $13 for the night, full hook-up. The weather is humid and hot. Bad...

Aug 1, 2007 - Leaving OKC, stopover in Mayetta, KS

Oklahoma City was fun--many changes since Malia and Kailani were born there 25 years ago. We visited the old apartments where we lived. It looked exactly the same but the name had changed. What used to be the old Cowboy Hall of Fame is now a wonderful cowboy museum that no one should miss visiting Oklahoma city. We bowled at Sunny Lanes near Tinker Air Force Base. Kirby took us to see Lake Hefner, where Bill used to windsurf and where we sailed our boat. Then we went to Brick Town and did the river walk at night. Great visit in Oklahoma...
