Aug 20, 2011 - The fish that got away..

Today started out as another cool and sunny morning so an ideal opportunity to see if the fish were biting. Darren managed to catch 3 fish which were all striped Bass but too small for keepers as the required minimum size was 18 inches so had to be put back, oh well the ones that got away…! He decided to give himself an outdoor haircut to help him to keep cool in the soaring afternoon temperatures. Aug 19, 2011 - Glen Elder State Park, KS

We headed west before the temperatures really soared and reached Glen Elder State Park by lunchtime, passing wind turbines on the journey. It was good to see the winds are being put to good use as an alternative energy source. Glen Elder State Park is situated on Waconda Lake one of Kansas’ largest lakes and boasts great fishing opportunities, so Darren purchased his license ready to have a go in the morning.
