Aug 13, 2016 - Cherryvale KS – Pearson-Skubitz Big Hill Lake – Cherryvale Park Campground

Needed a place for the weekend, so stopped here for a few nights. It was a bit rainy and the first night the mosquitos were awful, but things got better after that. Didn’t do much here. Again, it was hot and even Bridget didn’t want to take walks. One thing I noticed about this park were all the butterflies. They were all sizes and colors. It was kind of neat to see them. Oh, and we played a couple of games of Mexican Train while here and I walloped Roger. Course, he’s still ahead on total games one, but at least I got a couple of wins...

Retired at Last!

Aug 10, 2012 - Big Hill Lake

We have been at this Corp of Engineers Park since Aug 4. It has been so great being able to spend time with Kristina, Jon and the girls. We did some hiking and swimming, roasting marshmallows and just talking. Next week, we will be at Buckeye RV Park for our stay in Coffeyville, KS while I work at Amazon Fullfillment for the 4th season. I am sure my postings will be slim. I will try to be here monthly!! Jul 1, 2011 - Welcome to Cherryvale, KS

It is the same amount of work to hitch and then unhitch if we move 200 miles or 25 miles and today, it took longer to set up camp then it did to drive from Coffeyville to Cherrydale. We are camped at the Cherryvale Campground that is part of the Big Hill Lake recreation area. We have full hookups and that includes sewer so we have reserved this site for two weeks. We are in partial shade and that should help the refrigerator. We have Internet and satellite TV hookups – life is good. All this for $10/night – sometimes old is good. Sharon and...
