Jul 29, 2009 - Arkansas City
As we arrived in Arkansas City I was under the impression that they had 2 parks that you could overnight in, but only one had RV dumps. We quickly learned that Newman Park had the dumps but no overnight facilities. They had directions to the other park posted, so off we go. Jun 23, 2006 - Knowles Family Reunion - Arkansas City, KS
For the record, "Lou Ann's Campground" in Arkansas City is really just some ladies' front yard with 15 or so hookups. The Knowles Family reunion went really well at the Quaker Haven Camp. They have a huge swimming pool, a big covered patio area, air conditioned kitchen/dining-hall, and lots of stuff for the kids to do. Even Grandma Mae went down the bumpy slide. We're gonna try and work in next year's vacation loop to include it again. Maybe next year, we'll try the Cherokee Strip RV lot on the main highway.
