Oct 28, 2012 - At long last, here we are.
Sorry it has taken so long, but frankly, after driving all day I am beat. We left home a week ago Sat. The first day we made great time. All the way to Melvern, Kansas. About 590 miles. We got there only to find out the park we usually stay in was full. So, we drove to Eisenhower State Park. VERY nice park, with a site right on the water. Some of you may have seen it on facebook. Facebook, by the way, may be how I do a lot of posting. It is so much easier, and quicker than this. So, if you want to "be friends", send me a request. There will...

Sep 17, 2012 - Summer is winding down.
Well, after a long, hot, wonderful summer, we are preparing to head south on Oct. 20th. We will be staying in Sedona, Az. for at least the first month. We have never been to the northern part of Az, so wanted to go before it gets too cold. We will head to the Sierra Vista, Az. area after that. Not real definite yet. We are seriously considering leaving the motorhome down there for the summer. We don't use it here (we use the teardrop when we camp) so there is no point in paying for all that gas. We will write more when we head out.

Jun 24, 2012 - Osceola, IA
This was a long day of driving. We planned to stay overnight in Missouri. We did not see one RV park along I35 in Missouri. We drove off the highway to "Lewis and Clark State Park" which was closed. It was a shame...it is a beautiful park. We put in more hours of driving and stopped at "Terribles Casino and RV Park" in Osceola, IA. Nice Park with a small lake. Braxton fished a while and then a thunderstorm came through. We took showers and went to bed. Tomorrow ...... Minnesota.

Dec 5, 2011 - Camping, karoake, celebrating.
Last Friday, Sue and I loaded up the jeep, hooked up the teardrop, and headed for our other lot. We finally get to go camping!!! We spent the afternoon burning some downed wood in a great campfire. We were listening to music, dancing around the fire, and generally just having a great time. Sue said she loves doing that, "cause it makes you feel useful". I agree. We roasted hot dogs (too much, cause it was dark) and had hot chocolate. It was a beautiful night, and as Sue said many times, "a really good idea". We crawled into our snuggly...

Nov 26, 2011 - Go VIKINGS, no really please go.
I will start the entry with an apolgy for so little pictures. I used a different camera, and somehow lost most of them. Last Sat. morning Sue and I were having coffee, and I said,"looks like a good day to put up decorations". I had been at it for about half an hour, and it started to faintly snow. I asked Sue if she ordered it to set the mood. By the time it was done (about midnight) we had 8-11". It was beautiful! The only problem was Sue was going shopping, and the to the Madrigal Singers with Chris and Regan that night. She said the...

Nov 14, 2011 - You're Doing What!!!!!
The time has come when I would normally be telling where we are going in the south for the winter. I am here to tell you, WE ARE STAYING HOME FOR THE WINTER!! Some people (including us sometime) think we are nuts, others are very excited that we are staying home. Yes, we discussed it all last winter, that we would stay til the holidays were over. I thought that if we stayed THAT long, we might as well give the winter a shot. So far, no regrets. The weather has been beautiful. One little snowfall. We have a very busy schedule (to keep me...

Feb 16, 2011 - update on Toby (the horse)
Toby slept much of Sat. It was quite a frightening experience for her. She had been fine for Sun., Mon. Then on Tues., we were making our rounds, AND SHE IS IN ANOTHER FENCE. Not as bad this time, but we are going to have to figure something out. Belle thinks that maybe she is used to being tied, and not fenced. I told Belle that by naming her Toby, she was asking for trouble. There are 3 couples here now, and we all get along great. They boondock EVERYWHERE, and have not paid for camping all winter. That would be nice. You give up alot...

Feb 14, 2011 - at Belle's again
Happy Valentine's Day to all. We have been at Belle's since Sat. afternoon. Had a beautiful ride over. It felt good to be on the road again. Belle was very glad to see us, as we were to see her. She is looking well, and in good spirits. She is very inspiring. On Sun. morning we went for a walk around the ranch. Sue was still in her pj's. I saw a young filly laying very strangely, so I went over to her. She had a four legs badly tangled in the fencing, and she appeared to be dead. She had obviously been struggling for a long time, and was...

Feb 11, 2011 - finally, an entry
Hi all, To those of you who have been asking, NO, you have not been dropped from our journal. I have just been very lazy. By the time I get around to making an entry, I have lost the excitement of it. So, to make it short, we have had some very SCARY trips, very cold weather (-21 wind chill) and some very fun times. Even I need a rest some times. On Sunday, we are leaving here to go see Belle Starr (you all remember Belle) for awhile. We are then heading up to Benson, to see the progress at Arizona Legends (an rv park). We are also...

Dec 16, 2010 - Beaverhead trip
Another great trip to report on. Darrell wanted to go to Beaverhead, although everyone said there was nothing there. There may be nothing there, but the drive is beautiful! It reminded me of northern Mn. There were big pine trees, and open fields of hay. We stopped almost at the end of the road, and had lunch. We were with Darrell and Suzie, Brian (a newly retired mailman), Sally, and us. They were right, once we got there, there wasn't much there. Except a ranger station, AND BIGFOOT!!! You will see in the pictures. We thought of Ken...

Dec 7, 2010 - Busy, busy, busy
This will probably be a long entry, we have been very busy this week. Last Mon. we played Sequence. It is normally us, Ed and Donna, and Darrell and Suzie. This week new people have come, and it has expanded to 2 games, and we have to take turns. Bob (a workcamper friend) says he LOVES that game. He is addicted. It is fun. Tuesday night is practice noght for "On Call ". They are a bluegrass band. Now those of you that know me are probably saying "Toby listening to bluegrass!" They have so much fun playing, and they are so in tune with...

Nov 23, 2010 - San Mateos Mountain Drive
Hello, is there anybody out there? Is anybody listening? Anyway, here we go again. Last Sat. we went to a 5th birhday celebration for the El Camino Real Heritage Center. It is a place that shows ALOT of the history of this area. The El Camino Real is a trail that goes from Mexico City, Mex. to Santa Fe NM. It has been being used for hundereds of years. It closely follows current day, I-25. After much celebrating, eating, and exploring there, we headed over to Fort Craig. It is one of my favorite places down here. It amazes me that some...
