9/14/12 Today we go to Iowa. I really hate leaving our quiet little park but it’s time to move on if we expect to get to OH, NY, PA and NJ before the snow flies. Left a little later this morning (around 11:00) for the 134 mile trip to Creston, Iowa. A nice easy drive through miles and miles of corn, soy beans, and what we think were milo fields…as far as you could see. Just absolutely awe-inspiring. The corn is being cut and the soy beans are browning so I imagine that as soon as the farmer is done cutting his corn, he’ll get to turn...

Sep 17, 2009 - Balloon Festival

Sept 17, Thursday Short day today. From Newton we traveled on I -35 to Hwy 34 to Creston. When we arrived we found a YMCA and had a good work out and then drove to the Walmart and parked. Did some grocery shopping and looked around. Contacted our Balloonist, John Jensen and all was a go for Friday night. Sept 18, Friday, Explored the city of Creston. Just a great small town, where everyone knows everyone. People are so friendly. Iowa, full of corn, soy beans, hay, Bunn coffee pots and Tyson Chicken plants. Lots of rolling hill, farm...
