Sunday, August 30, 2009 From the middle of South Dakota to where we are tonight in Iowa, we have never seen so much corn and soy beans growing. Field after field after field for miles on end alternating with sections of soy beans and sections of corn. It seems that the farmers here in the Heartland alternate crops of soy beans with corn yearly. The corn takes nitrogen out of the soil and the soy beans puts it back in. The fields look look like rolling waves of green stretching out to the horizon in all directions. Spread among these waves...

May 6, 2008 - Rough Roads....and A Field of Dreams
We saddled up and headed out of Hanna Indiana Monday morning around 8:30 am with our eye set on somewhere around Dubuque Iowa in the afternoon. Guess what? Yep didn’t happen, I can’t believe how bad the roads are in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. And not to be out done Iowa’s suck to. These roads are beyond bad, I equate it to being in a category (4) earth quake for eight hours at 50 miles per hour, because nothing more was achievable. The alternator started to act up again, before we left West Virginia I checked it and it did not need any...
