On Tuesday 6/24/08, we traveled to Backbone State Park in Northeast Iowa. We met Gary & Mary, by brother & his wife. The "Flood of '08" has affected the State Park area. The roadway thru the Northern section was closed off to "thru traffic". Wednesday afternoon we traveled in Gary's Jeep "touring" the hills of Northeast Iowa. We ended up at Elkador for supper. The Elkador area had suffered from the flood. There was evidence of it around town.

With apologies for the delay on getting this trip posted on the site. You'd think that not having a job, I'd have lots of time for this sort of thing. I think once we're on the road full time, I'll be jotting notes down daily instead of waiting until the end of the trip. Oh well, live and learn! Anyway, we departed for Iowa on Wednesday, October 4th. Despite getting up around 7:00 that morning, it took until about 11:00 to get on the road, between packing up and getting the Jeep hooked up to tow. We did pretty well with that hooking up...
