Jul 21, 2010 - Lots of Family Stuff

We have stayed pretty busy while here at Shannon’s house. The kids come out pretty often, so I have been able to spend lots of time with my Great grandson, Mason. We had a very good time at my brother and best Buddy’s house. She made a big pot of beans and fried potatoes, and a delicious banana pudding for desert. After eating till we almost popped, we played cards. This is one of our, and most of my family’s, past-time. While there, my nieces, Connie and Charlotte stopped by and Herb and Willie were watching their grand daughter, Sidney,...

Jul 14, 2010 - At Shannon’s in Tell City

We arrived here at about 1:30 on Sunday. My Grandsons and Great Grandson were already here, but Jon, Angie and Chelsi all came later. We get such a kick out of watching Mason playing in the yard. Of course he has all the toys God ever created and he wants to make sure we see them all. He finally drug out his 4 wheeler and had to show us how he can ride it. I took a video of a short ride he took, but don’t know if I can get it loaded or not. It’s cute because he got in trouble with his Grandma for riding it too close to where she was...

Apr 20, 2009 - Trip To Tell City, In.

The trip, though longer, was very uneventful. It was a much longer trip than we usually make, at 360 miles, but the roads were good, and the traffic wasn’t very bad, so all in all it was a good trip. The fun didn’t begin until we got to Lois’s house to set up. I don’t know why, but we missed the fact that the electric lines were hanging way down. That’s right, the RV took them right out, so along with the long trip, we had to hang the lines back up, and then get set up. Couldn’t do that either, because we had lost the connector that changes...

Nov 19, 2008 - Not a Fun Trip So Far

When we started out from Tennessee I must have put the wrong route into Lily again, because she took us right over the mountains. We were going up, what Don called a dog path, straight up and straight down. This road was extremely narrow with no shoulders, so you can imagine pulling a 38ft. 5th wheel on this, plus the switch backs were very hard to manipulate when you couldn’t see if another car was approaching. About half way down the brakes started over-heating, but there was no place to stop. As soon as we got down I found a place to...

Mar 28, 2008 - We Made It To Tell City...

We had a little trouble before we left Paducah. Donnie went out to check the tires on the rv and the truck and had a flat on the truck. It had been loosing air before, but we thought we had it fixed. NOT!!! When he went to get it repaired, it was beyond fixing, so we had to get another tire to use for a spare. Before we left Paducah we decided to take a run out to "Land Between The Lakes". If you are ever in this area you must see it. It is so beautiful. There are several bays and inlets to take to go down to the large lakes. We took one...

Oct 23, 2007 - Having a good time at home.

We have been very busy since we landed in Shannon's back yard. This is our favorite park so far. Since Don had a stroke he also had to see our local Dr. He put him on some meds. and said he could start driving again. I had to see my eye Doctor and have my yearly mamagrahm (sp.). The kids are also very busy. Mark with his work and Shannon with hers. She is also helping with several benefits for her Mother in-law, Thelma. Thelma has lung cancer and only medicare for ins. Shannon is going to have a benefit table at the car show, selling raffle...

Jun 26, 2007 - The Begining

This is where our adventure began.(picture of stick house above) We sold everything and struck out for the great unknown. Our home base remains in Tell City, In. We get our mail there, do our banking there and have all of our ins. and so forth there. This is the day we have waited for and it is finally here. YEAH!!! Our first day of travel was a bit nerve wracking. The only experience we had pulling anything this big was when we bought it. We got it at a place called Best Buy in Richmond,In. and pulled it home from there. About 350 miles,...
