Jun 3, 2012 - Franklin to Scottsburg, IN

We rolled out in the fog with the temp. at a chilly 46*! When we were crossing Cowee Mt., Steve's comment was, "We're gonna be hard-pressed to see anything prettier than this!" Well, so far, he's right...here we are in the cornfields of Indiana for our first night. But, hopefully there's more to come! Thanks to Cowee Baptist Church's live streaming, we felt like we were right there in the 11am Sunday service.

Sep 22, 2010 - Indianapolis, IN

Today we went to Indianapolis. The first thing we did was get to ride on the Indy 500 track. We also went to their museum. It will give me an entirely new feeling when I watch the race now. It was great. We drove past "The Colts" stadium. In the afternoon we went to the Old Field Lilly House & Gardens. Talk about beautiful mansions. Indianapolis is a very clean city. They have a mall that runs for several blocks & is 4 stories right in the middle of the city. Bill got a new pair of sneakers that I tried on. to be continued ....

Today we went exploring New Albany, IN. There is an area on Main St. called "Mansion Row". There was 1 mansion after another. What beautiful old homes. We couldn't take any tours since they were closed on Mondays. Remember the song that goes "take the last train to Clarksville & I'll meet you at the station... Well we found Clarksville. It's next to New Albany & on the Ohio River. We also found "Falls of the Ohio" state park. They have a museum and are also on the Ohio River. There is a dam built along the river with an overflow area that...

Attached to the casino was a huge hotel & about a mile away there was another huge hotel. While having lunch I asked the server what there was to do in French Lick. She told me they have a movie theater and a bowling alley but not much else. I asked why there were these 2 huge hotels. She said the draw was the casino. This little town is in the middle of nowhere. People must come from all...

Nov 26, 2009 - Scottsburg, Indiana

Well we pulled in here to the Scottsburg Cracker Barrel at about 8:30 PM local time - we tried going into another Cracker Barrel just south of Indianapolis but soon discovered that it couldn't take RV's or buses (we need a big parking spot - about 55 feet long) needless to say once your committed and into a parking lot it very difficult to turn around and we had to disconnect the Smart car and reverse about 200 feet with Anne on the walky talky guiding me out as the reverse monitor was malfunctioning. Any way we made it out OK and just...
