We started our trip to South Dakota Wednesday, August 24, with the plan being to travel each Wednesday, staying at each stop (4 of them) for 7 days and arriving in Minneapolis September 21. Minneapolis is our intermediate main destination as we are going to the Ryder Cup, September 27 through August 2. 2016 Fall Trip

May 9, 2013 - Home

We are back to our starting point. The trip took 237 days, through 13 states, set up in 27 campgrounds, and drove 8772 miles. The final Walmart total 35. I originally wrote the blog so that my grand children and the next generations would have information about their grand parents. Instead it became a way to keep in touch with friends and family. I have enjoyed every comment, critique, and laugh. That includes those who know me well and those of you I have never met. I will leave you with a few last observations and travel advice. 1....

11/24/09 OTRA – Rising Sun, Indiana Left at 11:15 a.m. for the uneventual (thank goodness!) trip south through Columbus (very hazy this a.m.) to just north of Cincinnati where we went west across the Ohio River (we missed getting a picture of the “Welcome to Indiana” sign but we crossed into that state at 2:00 p.m.) then south along the river to The Little Farm on the River. August 14 2009 Little Farm on the River Rising Sun Indiana This weekend the Tri State Traveliers had their rally along the Ohio River in Rising Sun IN. The RV area was on the banks of the Ohio so everyone could see the boat traffic. Barges, bass boats, pleasure boats and even a few canoes could be seen the entire weekend Rising Sun is a pretty city of about 3 thousand people. Friday, August 8, 2008 While we were staying in the Dayton area we went to the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park, Parachute Museum, Wright Cycle Company, Wright Family Home Site, Wright Brothers’ Hill/Memorial, Huffman Prairie Field, Annie Oakely/Lowell Thomas/Garst Museum, Kitchen Aid Experience, Locking Dam, and Piqua Historical Area Erie Canal. Mar 22, 2008 - Rising Sun, Indiana

We are staying at the Little Farm on the River RV Park and Camping Resort. This is a perfect place to visit with family with so many things to do for children. The sites are gravel and with full hook ups. They have golf cart rentals, a fishing pond, paddle boats, mini golf, heated swimming pool and much more.
