Jul 22, 2012 - Crossing Michigan and Indiana
Another full driving day, across Michigan through Indiana. We came down Highway 69 to Highway 24 and across Indiana to a nice campground on the western side of Indiana. The roads were mostly OK – better than I-70 in Indiana. The temperature is rising – 95 at the campground. Thank goodness we will have air conditioning tonight. Tonight, Nancy cooked hot dogs on the portable grill. The campground is on a huge lake and has a very nice view.

Oct 15, 2011 - Saturday October 15
We finally got packed up and headed out about noon. It was cold grey and very windy in MI. But the sun came out in IN. We arrived in Remington about 4 PM. With a pull though site and full hookups we are quite comfortable. I took some pictures but I don't know how to get them here. Maybe later. Too bad for the Wolverines today!

Sep 26, 2011 - Clyde's All Better
Clyde is fixed! As it turned out the alternator was fried and needed to be replaced. Although it is a bit of a pricey repair we are now back up and running. We didn’t drive far today because we needed to dump the tanks, take on fresh water, and enjoy some hot showers! We have stopped for the night at the Caboose Lake Campground in Remington, Indiana, to satisfy all these needs before we continue on our adventure. Now let us just hope there are no more mechanical problems! Happy Travels, Rebecca

Sep 22, 2011 - Remington IN
Here we sit in the Caboose Lake Campground off I-65, Exit 201, in Remington IN. Boringish day, but at least it was semi-productive. Not interesting mind you, but productive. We left the campground outside Cincinnati at about 10:30, got some fuel, got the oil changed, mailed some stuff and then headed north on I-65 through Indianapolis and on to Remington. Not a real thrilling ride, but it was pretty nice. One neat thing we saw was what has to be the largest group of wind turbines ever. There were hundreds of them along either side of the...

Aug 20, 2011 - The Caboose Lake Campground - Accidents & a turtle
Cindy doing this entry. After leaving the pie restaurant we traveled a 2 lane corn field lined road toward Remington, IN. Not too far down the road the corn was pretty flattened and then we came upon an accident that looked like an 18 wheeler and a car were blown over into the corn field. The fire trucks, ambulances, and rescue workers were on the scene and we were detoured down a different country rd to by pass the accident. When we returned to the original road a country block later (I think a country block is = to 10 sq acres!) there was...

May 2, 2010 - Dog shows are over and we move on
Last night we got 3 inches of rain which pretty much ruined the dog show rings, putting many of them underwater. The show start time was delayed by 1/2 hour as they moved the rings to a gravel parking area. We showed my puppy at around 11:00. He moved much better on the gravel than he did in the lumpy grass the previous days. I and many others thought he would win the variety but on the last time around he wanted to stop and not walk. There went the Best of Variety win, but he did get best of winners. Just a few feet outside the ring my...

May 16, 2009 - ohio/Indiana
Today has been another long day, after we got out of the allegheny mtns in PA. We had some rain to deal with, mostly showers thru Ohio (lots of farmland, got to see the houses that will be hidden by corn fields this summer). This area (Remington) had 3" of rain yesterday and just west of here, they had tornadoes. We saw nothing like that, thank you. The farmers fields look like small lakes, I don't think they will be working them for a while. We expect to start slowing down tomorrow as we will cross the Mississippi. Roads were much better...

Sep 3, 2008 - Remington, IN
Well, here we are in Remington, IN at http://www.cabooselake.com/
Don't ask me WHY we're here... we just are :) Parked next to the interstate for 7 days, kinda in the middle of nowhere, but that can be a good thing sometimes. I have an air gauge problem that needs to be fixed in Lafayette, IN ( about 35 miles south) and will have to take our RV in for repairs when we leave here. Have NO idea of how long the fix will take, but we're prepared to stay at a hotel for a day or two!
