Jun 6, 2016 - Breakdowns at opportune moments

While sitting at breakfast MJ sensed LP gas (her sense of smell is just one of her superpowers). Sure enough, the line between the tank and the regulator was leaking. So, it is off to the local Tractor Supply Company for me. We tried to go to the gigantic Toyota Camry factory for a tour, but there weren’t any spots left. The next time hopefully we will have planned to stop here in advance. Then, it is off to Prophetstown State Park in West Lafayette Indiana. The concrete roads are taking their toll on Yertle (the camper). Every time we open...

Aug 8, 2006 - Monticello, IN

August 8, 2006 This morning, we left Mr. Lincoln's Campground in Springfield, IL and headed to Monticello, IN. We arrived at Indian Beach Campground in Monticello, IN about 1:00 p.m. We ate lunch. Later, I walked around the campground and checked out the showers. I decided we would shower in the motor home. The campground had a lot to offer; a 1400 acre lake, an amusement park, etc. That evening we took long walks to the lake and around the campground.

Jun 23, 2005 - Part 2 Things To See And Do Around Monticello, Indiana

Comments by Lynn: We did our sightseeing on Sunday afternoon, and most of the day on Monday. Sunday afternoon, we "checked out" some other RV campgrounds in the area, but they were just so-so. One was primarily for fishing and canoeing, as it was near a river. The Prophetstown State Park Campground was well kept, clean and modern, with big sites. The only drawback is that it is REALLY out in the boonies -- you would definitely need a vehicle to travel to a store, etc. As we drove down a long country road to get to the campground near the...

Jun 4, 2005 - Part 1 White Oaks RV Resort Monticello, Indiana

Ray: We had received in our mail, back in February of this year, a card "inviting us to White Oaks RV Resort in Monticello, Indiana." We would receive three nights and four days of camping free, and also a certificate for a free "$250 Omaha Steak package" in the mail, in return for listening to the presentation from Western Horizons on its Resort Membership Package. Since we wanted to get more familiar with RV membership packages, and this one would include an additional package to Coast-to-Coast discount camping, and AOR (which belongs to...
