Moving day today, time to pack up and head to the north country. We took our time getting around and finally departed the campground at 10:30 am not sure how far we would to today. We had decided to drive the back roads on the way home so we drove 70A to Clarksville TN and turn north on US 41. One of the high spots of this drove was to past Fort Campbell, Kentucky, home of the 101st Airborne Division and the 5th Special Forces Group. 2014 Memphis

Sep 19, 2012 - Crossed into our 40th State

Tuesday drove 324 miles to Oaktown in Indiana our 40th state that we have visited, it took nearly 7 hours as we stopped twice, now in a different time zone as well went forward an our as we entered Indiana. Lovely scenery on route very flat with loads of fields growing corn looks very colourful as well. Wednesday visited Vincennes 14 miles away, walked to the river from one of the county parks saw loads of woodpeckers & other birds no photos though, back into town for lunch then wandered around a few shops before walking by the river again...

Wandering America

Oct 27, 2008 - Oaktown, Indiana (New Vision RV Park)

October 27/08 Our route took us down some new roads going south Hwy 69 to Indianapolis to visit a Flying J then Hwy 70 to Hwy 41 to get to the New Vision RV Park in Oaktown, Indiana. Campground Notes: $14.00/night (PA), E 50/S/W, picnic table, gravel, wi-fi ($1.00/day), easy satellite set-up, loud train and highway noise, propane, Amenities at least 6 miles down the road, laundry, nice owners. Use as a last resort.
