May 28, 2014 - Evansville, IN

May 28, 2014 Last night we went to the Wedge which is a brewery and art studio in the River Arts Walk area down near the train tracks. They had tables set up, umbrellas, a band, beer, food truck and peanuts in a shell. Was somewhat similar to gatherings on the plaza other than folks could bring their dogs. AND there were several trains that went through full of coal. We both had the Iron Pale IPA in honor of the workers who carried their pails working on the train tracks. Then went to All Soul’s Pizza which was interesting. For an appetizer...

So, Nick helped Jake switch out the points on the bus at the campground. Today, we found out that Pickle was perfectly...

Sep 7, 2009 - A visit with the Grandkids/Arriving at home

September 7th- Spent the best part of the day at my son's house trying to spoil my two grandsons Eli and Lucas. They have grown so much since we last saw them. They are both great kids and a lot of fun to be around. David and Carrie cooked out for us while I had fun spoiling the kids. We had a terrific but much too short of a visit with them all and left for home around 3:00 this evening. After a long day and night and about 550 or so miles we got to our house around midnight. Josh and Beth Smith, our neighbors , heard us drive up made a...

Sep 6, 2009 - Another long day on the road home

September 6th-Today was another long day on the road. 618 miles to be exact. Most all day we are still in farming country. Mostly corn and soy beans. I can't imagine how all of it gets planted, tended to and combined. It is hard to believe how much farming goes on here. We stopped in Evansville Indiana for the night and plan to visit my son in the morning.
