Jul 1, 2019 - In the shop

We were taken in right at 7 AM, Jodi is the service rep and Gary is the technician. He has been at Fleetwood for 35+ years, started in the factory. Just great to have that level of experience. We had to corral the cats in the bedroom so he could work on the shower skylight. We thought we had done it but when Gary was up on top working on the skylight he looked down into Birti’s face looking up at him from the top of the slide! He put her back and next thing she was out again. After that he gave up and when he delivered the Eagle to us they...

Jun 30, 2019 - Around town

Found the couple next to David is from Ocala and the ones next to therm are from Leesburg. Small world. Also spoke to a couple from Arkansas who have only 1 of the 2 A’C.s working - awful in this heat. We went to Rural King and around town, drove to Greg Mies’s old house and saw a Trees to These trailer in from of his building but doesn’t look as if he’s working out of it at all. Had ice cream at the stand in Wiltshire OH. WIFI slow in the campground so we will need to do that stuff on Monday.

Jun 29, 2019 - Camp Decatur

We had a rough road on I65 to Indianapolis and were rerouted on I70 again as I69 is still under major construction. Got to the parking lot, set up in site 308 and then in talking to several people found that 402 which is a parallel site with grass for the grill to be on and close to the building so we might get WiFI was open. We moved into it and although not as level as desireable is still good as close to the building. WiFi was slow but we found one of the couples here was streaming video on it - good reason to make it slow. I did get...

Jul 9, 2018 - Camp Decatur

Some things have changed and some are the same. As Sunday progressed the lot filled up but we have a Monday appointment. The hours and rules have really changed and not for the better. They will now take the coach in at 7:30 - that's good. We can't stay in the coach - not good at all. They pulled the Eagle in and we were able to talk to the techs - same guys as last year - then Ted came in to go over our list. When we were done we had to leave and could not stay with Birti and Manny. I had to put them in the back and pulled the door shut by...

Jul 7, 2018 - Trees to These and Fleetwood

Yesterday we arrived at Greg’s a little later than expected but he was ready to check out the cabinet doors. I65 north of Louisville is still under construction and really rough. There was an accident on I465 that is the beltway around Indianapolis and we were slowed down for it. Then I69 was closed due to an accident and we were rerouted on I70 and then up Hwy 27 to Decatur. We found out later that I69 is terrible too so maybe that was a benefit to miss it. Greg took off the doors and consulted with Ray on how to change them. We then drove...

2018 Trip

Mar 21, 2018 - 2 Free nites

We decided to spend 2 more days here and get some minor adjustments done to the rig on our way home. Weather continues in hi 40s so nice during the day. We should be home to Cherry ST sometime tomorrow with luck. Will make the run thru Detroit hopefully before rush hour. It's been a good trip but it's time to go home. Final details to follow.

Jan 1, 2018 - Home of the Mothership

We survived -18C in the rig, but i'll tell you the furnace ran most of the night and we had a pile of blankets over us. Up New years morning for the 130 mile run to Decatur Indiana. We found the repair facility OK, unloaded the car, plugged the rig in and checked into the hotel for 4 days while repairs are made. As you all likely are well aware most of N America is caught under this frigid air system and yikes its stinking cold. However forecast is warming by Thu so hopefully as we continue S it improves. Went over to the shop today, all is...

Aug 1, 2017 - Fleetwood

We arrived at Fleetwood, we are in spot 212 that isn’t real level so maybe bags will malfunction. No they now hold up. Troy took us Wednesday and found a fitting leaking, not what he did a month ago. Fixed it, we moved to front row that is more level but more noisy as it’s on the road. They have us on the waiting list since Monday to look at the slide wires. Went to trees to these to see if Greg could work on slide wires binding, the slide would not open! Back to Fleetwood to wait. They had Bob look at us Thursday afternoon, will take it in...

Jul 6, 2017 - Fleetwood factory service

We started out with a short list: sealant check and found the shower skylight is fine, don't need to replace. Ray had them replace the valves in all three sinks as we are getting an odor when we come off a drive. Then asked them to check out the air suspension system for leaks. We had to get out as they put the Eagle up on the lift - however, the cats were allowed to stay inside. Troy found leaks in both front air bags and can't get them from Spartan until tomorrow and wouldn't be able to fit time for the install until Monday at best. They...

Jul 5, 2017 - Fleetwood and FTTT

Greg finished up the toppers - stopped yesterday because it was too hot and so Ray helped him string the passenger side topper. Since he ordered the bedroom topper by mistake we are taking it in case we need to replace at a later date. He also finished the work on the cup holders - it was more of an access situation than originally appeared - had to get into the cabinet to get out the pull out tray but put on a very nice corian piece to hold eye glasses etc and that looks to much nicer than the old plastic. Somehow the cup holder just...

Jul 4, 2017 - From trees to these

Kevin finished up the trim work by noon and we were on our way to Greg's place - only 45 minutes away. He didn't have any other coaches here this time and after checking the weather decided to start on the toppers even though it's a holiday. He used a scaffold and Ray helped him string the toppers on the drivers side as his son was at work. This will allow him to get it all done by tomorrow and will be more convenient in coordinating with Fleetwood. We went to the ice cream stand in Willshire that we always pass as we come to Trees to These...

Jul 3, 2016 - Fleetwood factory center

We are at Fleetwood and in the back parking lot - the new lot is being graded and we are in makeshift quarters side by side. When we came in there were open spots - we found out those were 30 amp! There was a 50 amp we took and then were told the people planned to come back, people next to us called them and found out no, we could have the spot. Fortunately we came in early and on the 3rd of July as the lot really started to fill once we had our space. We do get satellite thankfully. I drove a wood piece to Trees to These, Greg is making a...
