Aug 4, 2011 - MY HOME TOWN
We made it to my home town of Connersville as a base to be able to go out in to the country to see about geocaching in the area. We found a wonderful waterfall in Richmond where I had gone as a kid to swim and walk in the creek to look for crawl dads and some fishing on shore. This place was where we would go camping as we grew older and the place where we would stop to see the falls at night with our girlfriends. We went over to Glen Miller park where back in the 40's, Mr Miller was playing concerts in the park for my mother to enjoy as a...

Aug 4, 2011 - Things Are Smellling
We have been here now for three days and got to see my friends and went out to eat. We ran around town and did some Geocaching in the country. Norma had some trees in her yard when growing up as a kid in PA. She saw these trees growing along side of the old whitewater canal, the canal was filled in with dirt. You can still see the walking path along side the railroad tracks where the animals would pull the grain barges on the toll path from Connersville to Indianapolis.Barges were the main transportation for getting grain and farm items to...

Oct 9, 2010 - Old Fashion Train Ride
Today we decided to take a side trip and ride an old fashion train. We rode our wagon to Connersville, IN., where we boarded the train for a 1 /1/2 hour ride to a town called Metomora. Our ride took us through the country side parallel to the old canal channel and along the Whitewater River. The water was very low and we could see the large fish swimming from the train. During our ride the conductors and brakemen/women sang songs. They explained sites along the way including the gas pump cemetery, the car cemetery, and oil drum cemetery. We...

Aug 26, 2010 - Time To Head Back Home
This was to be a one week vacation to Ohio for the Geocaching Event, it turned out to be more then three weeks and a few more miles then what we were going to drive. We were going to drive up to Ohio and back, we did a few side trips like Michigan, Indiana. All in all it was a nice trip, we enjoyed the slow pace of driving and to be able to go where we had no plans on going to. We enjoyed small towns and the fun of what we may see along the way of life.

We have been in town now for a few days and have gotten around to see all my high school friends and had to show Norma where we had gone swimming on those hot summer days as a youg boy. We had gone to waterloo bridge north east of Roberts park on our bicycles when the hot summer was up on us. We would ride for mile to swim and then ride our bikes for mile to go to the south end of connersville to play Baby Ruth Baseball. We did crazy things like jumping off the bridge at waterloo bridge to jumping from the train bridge in east...

Jul 8, 2008 - City Grave Yard !!!!!!!
Gary and Norma had to go into town to wash up some things that they have used up during the three weeks on the road, like blue jeans, shirts and socks. Too bad they have to wear clothes and we don't as dogs. While they went out to do what they have to do , we went for a walk down to the city grave yard. The grave yard is very old and we found graves from the early 1700's and a special grave marker. It was a doll house for a small child that had died early in life. We like to go into grave yards to feel the " SPIRTS " all around us, we dogs...

Jun 10, 2007 - HOME TOWN
We left the bluegrass camp site and wanted to head over to my home town. Getting into town and heading up to my best friends house, we pull into the drive way and find out that he was not in town for the weekend. So we being close friends, I set up camp in his driveway for the weekend. When we were pups, we had gone to the old swimming hole, the Whitewater river that was the main water way during the early years in the 1800's. A man name John Conner built a trading post in 1815 and started a town called Connersville. We all went to the...
