Sep 1, 2017 - Horseshoe Lake, Clinton, IN

We departed the Mendota Hills campground before 9 a.m. heading down I-39 then taking I-74 eastward across the Indiana stateline, finally south on Hwy-63 toward Clinton, Indiana. It was only 222 miles and 4 1/2 hours. This is supposed to be an overnight only boondocking situation, however we have to check the weather situation. Hurrican Harvey has landed in Texas and now has drifted upward and eastward into our path. We don't mind driving in poor weather if necessary, but not really nasty weather on purpose! We only have about 180 miles to...

Oct 8, 2012 - Congratulations to Kyle !

Yes, a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to grandson Kyle for having achieved the "BEST JOURNAL" award for his work on his journal while traveling with us this past summer! Distinguished with a bright gold seal stating, "Best Journal" on the upper left of the main page. Dave got an e-mail from the Trip Journal people stating that they'd heard about Kyles writing and checked it out and further stated it merited the award. We're very proud of Kyle and the work he put into his journal. He paid attention to all the tour information confronting him, took the...

Sep 25, 2012 - TTN Horseshoe Lakes, Blanford, Indiana

As predicted, Rebecca drove this leg of our trip, all 145 miles of it. It's great to have two drivers of this rig. If she didn't, we'd have to have stayed at Honey Bend cuz Dave sure didn't feel up to driving. Our deal is that one doesn't drive if they're gonna be a safety hazard. Remember, we're hauling our home along with all our earthly possessions and all coupled together it weighs 11 1/4 tons! We don't want to take any chances with life, limb and property! Not to mention other persons lives are potentially at stake! Anyway, the drive...

Oct 5, 2008 - TTN Horseshoe Lakes, Blanford, Indiana

The 160 mile drive from Indian Lakes (Batesville, IN) to Horseshoe Lakes, (Blanford, IN) was a very nice relaxed drive. Rebecca drove about half the distance. She has now put about 170 miles of hauling behind the wheel of the new pickup. Rebecca has also noticed the greater stability, security and comfort while hauling. This is a fabulous preserve! We chose a wonderful space backed up to one of the lakes. Our morning coffee time is enhanced by beautiful fall scenery. Of the eleven lakes on the property, 10 of them can be fished. The one...
