Oct 31, 2009 - A Haunted Halloween Trip
Guess we shouldn't have left home on Halloween!! Seems as though our trip was haunted for the entire day! We had a late start as there were strong winds. We zipped along as the sky turned dark and night fell as we headed to Green Acres Campground in Marion, IN. ... Then we were HAUNTED again!! 25 miles from our destination a thumping and then a loud explosion as the front left tire blew!!! Oh, my god, it was scary! Neal was able to pull off the freeway and park safely on the shoulder but, of course, the tire was in shreds and the rim was dented up.Guess we shouldn't have left home on Halloween!! Indian Lakes Thousand Trails, Batesville, Indiana Rock Regional Church and Drive to Batesville We got up early enough this morning to get ready for church and to get unhooked and drop the RV off at The Rock's new building. ... We figured it would be easier to leave it there than to have to go all the way back to Marseilles to get it before hitting the road for Indiana.Sunday, October 18, 2009. October 11 – Sunday Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends in Canada. Shaun & Dianne and Gary & Elaine did some sightseeing of Indianapolis, had lunch at Incredible Pizza and then had a quiet afternoon doing laundry, relaxing and getting ready to head out tomorrow. ... October 10 – Saturday We were blessed with another beautiful sunny day again. Shaun & Dianne and Gary & Elaine had a relaxing morning then went to tour Indianapolis and go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall of Fame Museum. ... On display are many winning race cars of the Indianapolis 500, car and driver memorabilia and trophies. ... On the walls are pictures of all the winning drivers since 1911.October 10 – Saturday We were blessed with another beautiful sunny day again. October 9 – Friday We had some rain overnight and the TV news advised us of some flooding in nearby Columbus. By this time it was raining so we took the drive a little slower to Indianapolis with big trucks passing us one after another. ... We reached our campsite – Lake Haven Retreat – on the south side of Indianapolis by 2:45 and after getting set up headed to Greenwood and the OMS Headquarters where Dave & Sharron are parking nearby Sharron’s sister Flo. ...
