Jun 10, 2012 - Drive back to the RV

After a long breakfast with those who stayed at the hotel, we headed back to the RV in Sycamore. It was ok (you never know) so we had a sigh of relief. It was hot so we spent the rest of the day at the beach on the lake. It was windy and we originally got sand blasted when we sat our chairs up on the sand. After we moved to the edge of the sand with grass upwind of our seats it was a pleasant afternoon. This evening we walked around the lake and pond again and enjoyed another beautiful sunset...we did that our first night here too.

Jun 7, 2012 - Drive to Sycamore, IL

The campground at Sycamore is between a pond and a lake with several trees so, again, it feels more like a park than a private campground. The pond and lake both have walking paths circling them and the weather is still perfect so we walked around them both seeing several fishermen and a few people at the beach. The fishing is catch and release and we got to see a couple of fish as they were getting thrown back. There's also a basketball court and a tennis court in the campground. We had to play a game of horse....Rick won.

Aug 24, 2007 - Sycamore, Illinois

Since the weather forecast was for steady but light rain, and most of Jos family had left for home, we decided to depart ourselves on Sunday afternoon and head west to visit friends in Illinois. Driving through off and on rain on the Ohio and Indiana turnpikes, we made it to Michigan City Indiana Sunday night. Monday morning we visited the nearby Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, a part of the National Park System. Thanks to the intermittent rain, we did not have to worry about fighting any crowds at the Lake Shore. We had a wonderful...
