Apr 24, 2011 - Church and Two Easter Dinners

We actually saw some sun on Easter which was a relief after so many days of rain and cold. Everyone in Chicago is fed up with the weather and then, to add insult to injury, the newscasters this morning reported that gas prices in the Chicago area are the highest in the country. Our RV tank is almost full from gas we bought in Champaign so we won't have to buy gas until Ohio. It's still going to cost us a bunch of plastic to get home to Marion this week. Apr 19, 2011 - Winter Lingers

We are visiting my Mom every day in the nursing home. She is doing quite well and they are taking good care of her. We had a Care Meeting yesterday with staff and that went well too. So, it is a relief, to see we made a good choice in nursing homes. She moved to Rosewood Care Center in late February. The weather here has been gloomy and raw. Much to every one's surprise, there was snow on the ground yesterday morning. I took a picture of Allen's backyard which you can see. Apr 14, 2011 - Arrival in Arlington Heights

In three short hours we traveled from Champaign to Arlington Heights, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. The trip was easy as we seemed to fly up the interstates including those in the big city. My brother, Allen, has a very large driveway and so we are able to park our motorhome in it which works out great and we appreciate his hospitality.
