Jan 2, 2011 - Gloria's Truly EPIC Journey

2011's EPIC journey began in November 2010 with Gloria's diagnosis of Uterine Cancer. Surgery in December and chemotherapy began in January. With a few bumps (and two broken legs) along the way chemo was completed in August. A PET scan in August shows no visible cancer! Recovery is complicated by peripheral neuropathy in her hands and feet. Additional tests and treatment plus therapy on both legs continues through December and into 2012. There has been no travel except that to and from doctors, clinics and hospitals. The year will come to...

Aug 6, 2010 - Southward and home today!

FRIDAY< August 6 - Packed up and departed this morning. Thought that we'd drive part way today and make it home Saturday. As we drove south it was evident that we could make it home easily today, so we continued on. Nice day for the drive and everything was fine until our last hour (south of Milwaukee) WHICH TOOK ABOUT 2-1/2 HOURS WHAT WITH ALL OF THE TRAFFIC! Just miles of stop-and-go driving. Nothing to do now but empty the rig and rest.

SATURDAY, January 16 -- Left home at mid-day, got into Indiana and had to turn back as the tow setup was causing problems. Pulled into Family Hyundai's lot before their service department closed and they were kind enough to check out the auto -- no issues there. Waited until Monday and took the Motorhome and car over to Terry's RV where they checked out the electrical and transmission setup and confirmed that the add-on Trans Pump needed to be replaced. The pump was ordered for overnight delivery and as I got ready to drive the Motorhome...

Oct 11, 2009 - Last stop before returning home

SUNDAY, Oct 11 -- We Met Gloria's Cousin Marilyn Bushnell at the entrance to their gated community. She guided us to their campground where we set up and then drove back to the home she shares with her mother Grace Hansen. We had a nice visit and dinner. We brought Tamara's wedding photos with us so they were able to see them. Grace is partially blind, but can make out figures. After overnighting at the campground we made the final leg of our trip home without incident. Guess this is the end of our 2009 EPICtravels since the weather doesn't...
