I did not intend to write anything until after the wedding but obviously changed my mind. We had a special finish to our time at the lake with a boat ride. The weather was perfect for a cruise around the lake. So relaxing. We left the lake late Thursday for Scott AFB. It was too late to visit with Tricia until today (Friday). It has been so good to see the family. The great grandchildren have grown so much. Faith, our 10 year old granddaughter is as tall as me. Jul 19, 2011 - Meeting up with some Friends

This morning we left from Keith WA8ZWJ in Dayton, OH around 9:00am. Today we drove through Indiana, and then stopping for the night in Illinois. This evening we met up again with our RVing buddies that we traveled this past winter with John (N5AAA) and Jan (KA9VQS) and also Bob Fisher (N0BIX) and his wife Jean for a wonderful Mexican dinner. Then back to the Sams Club parking lot were we spent the night. We arose early for another long drive day.

Jul 20, 2010 - Scott AFB, Illinois

You’ve probably noticed that we have finally stopped complaining about the cold weather. We can now complain about the HOT, HUMID and RAINING weather. Well, if the weather is all we have to complain about, I guess we are doing well. The low in the entire state of Missouri as we crossed it was 92 degrees. Then, just to add insult to this injury, the announcer says “Now, y’all know that the REAL heat index factor makes that 92 feel like 104.” Yeah, like I really needed to know that I feel hotter than it really is. 2010 Travels

Oct 29, 2009 - Dayton, OH to Scott AFB, IL

Arrived at Scott AFB, outside of O'Fallon, IL. We hit rain shortly after entering Illnois, and it rained all night. It rained so much, that many of the roads on the base were closed due to flooding. We have found in just a few short days, that if you don't know where you're going on a military base, the security guards at the main gate are pretty much useless.
