Sep 22, 2014 - Day 22 Paying Respects to a Fallen Friend

We had a Fallen Soldier from Roy's Unit to pay our respects to in Jacksonville, Ill today. We made the trip in the morning and the dew was still on the ground when we made it to the cemetery. Andrew R. Tobin, Killed in action. We had known Andrew since boot camp, we met him at graduation ceremonies at Ft Benning in 2008 when he and our Roy graduated. That was a goose bumpy experience also, with a squad coming out of the multi colored smoke and attacking us in the grand stands. Complete with Striker and Bradley vehicles and a Blackhawk...

Kansas 2014

Mar 29, 2008 - Day 4 - Jacksonville, Illinois

March 29 Today was pretty uneventful. The highways were flat and dry and we got up in Sioux Falls, went to the nearby second hand store and then headed out for our long drive towards Nashville. I did buy a couple of things at the store, but outside of our stop at a Mexican restaurant for lunch that was pretty tasty, things were pretty mundane.
