8/14 Southern Fried Chicken? We awoke at 5am at the Giant City State Park to the sound of rain pelting our roof. The Navigator called an executive meeting to discuss our strategy for the day and actually solicited for my input. With mouth agape I stammered that I wanted to get gas the first thing this morning (refer to previous day’s blog) and that any thing she wanted to do was okey-dokey by me. After a sort scenic drive to Carbondale we filled up at a Citgo station owned by…..a Pakistani! Nice fellow he was and very accommodating in...

8/13 Day 2 Let’s Play a Game on Bill Today IS Friday THE THIRTEENTH and it’s time to pull up stakes and head north to Illinois. This great park we stayed in last night decided to play a little State Park game on Ol’ Bill. The game is called “Find the Dump Station”. We drove to the dumpsters but no sign of a dump station so we turned around headed back into the park and saw a sign pointing the way to the dump station or so I thought. I turned where the sign indicated and lo and behold we ended up back at our campsite. Good Ol’ Happy Bill...

Nov 24, 2007 - S***t-kickin' Russells

Made a quick trip in to Nashville this morning to go to Hatch Show Print. While we waited for Hatch to open, we wandered in to a cowboy boot store that was having a "buy 1 get 2 pair free" sale. Hhhmmm...there's 3 of us, and that's 3 pairs of boots for the price of 1. Well, when in Rome - or Nashville. So we're now all walking around in our new cowboy boots! Yee haw! Watch out - 'cause these boots were made for walkin' and there gonna walk all over someplace. We're not quite as cold tonight - back at Giant City State Park in southern...
