Today went well although it rained most of the day. We made it to the Kankakee South KOA in Chebanse, IL without any interruptions. I'm back in my old stomping grounds. When we lived in Illinois, I spent 3 or 4 months living and working in Kankakee. The company I worked for at the time had a contract to empty the sludge ponds at the Kankakee Waste Water Treatment Plant. I was in charge of recruiting farmers to allow application of the sludge on their fields as fertilizer. I probably drove more than 500 miles within Kankakee County talking...

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday - October 15, 16, 17 -- We waited until Friday so Gloria could attend her Tai Chi class, but it turns out the instructor was sick and there was no class. So, off we went to the final Coachmen 188 Club outing of the year. A short jaunt just south of Kankakee to the KOA. The campground was decorated for Halloween and of course it was cool out. It was an enjoyable weekend with a roaring campfire each day/evening, a potluck Friday evening, and pizza hosted by the campground on Saturday. There was a costume parade and...
