Drove from the Albert Lea – Austin KOA Minnesota to Pine Country Thousand Trails in Belvidere Illinois. Yay for a free night of camping. Having to pay tolls to drive on the roads made up for it. This is the start of paying tolls in a lot of the states. We got a I pass which is the Illinois version of the ez pass which is accepted in 13 states. It sure makes paying tolls easier. Jul 26, 2007 - Day 32, Belvidere IL

We had a route change so today we did not have our scheduled Rest Day! What a day it was! It started out overcast but pleasant but went downhill from there. It was one of our first days with a true downpour. It was amazing how an enjoyable ride through Wisconsin dairy country with plenty of rolling hills can become a labor just to see the lines on the road as the sky opens up! I guess in any ride of this length you are bound to suffer through all types of weather! Not sure if heat or rain is the worst weather condition. The wind has not...
