Date: September 17, 2011 Tonight’s Location: Swan Valley, Idaho Mileage: End - 85488 Start - 85166 Total Miles for the day: 322 Weather: Mostly sunny Temperature: start 48º High 64º Wildlife count: osprey, antelope, Red-tailed Hawk, Killdeer, Meadowlarks We had a relaxing start to this morning, with time on the web and McDonald’s for breakfast. Our route followed I-84 through the entire southern valley of Idaho, in the Snake River Plain. We even saw wagon ruts from the Oregon Trail. I plan to get some books on the Oregon Trail and read...

Jul 17, 2007 - Swan Valley, Idaho

After spending a couple nights in Pocatello, Idaho, we motored a couple hours to Swan Valley, Idaho. We'll be here 5 nights fishing the Snake River and exploring Grand Tetons National Park across the border in Wyoming. I'll add pictures as we take them over the next few days. The weather has finally cooled down, hitting a high in the mid-eighties with a good breeze. The major phenomenon today was a rare display of mechanical ability by myself. Usually, I am totally worthless for anything more mechanical than turning the ignition key. But,...
