Well it only took us a month since leaving Mission, Texas, but we've made it across the Idaho border. We're staying at Lake Walcott State Park outside of Rupert, Idaho, not far from the Utah border. Today we left Salt Lake City to head north towards Cheryl's brother's house in Idaho. After miles and miles of snow topped mountains, we stopped for lunch in a tiny farm community called Snowville on I-84 for lunch. The town was not named for the weather, but after a Mormon prophet. The town's only diner had some colorful characters, regular truckers & locals, a little red-necked and politically opinionated but fun. Jul 24, 2008 - Lake Wolcott State Recreation Area, Idaho

We stayed at the Double Dice RV Park in Elko, Nevada. It was a lot like you might imagine by the name. (See pictures.) Gravel lot (actually considerably cooler than asphalt) with electric outlets, water, and sewer. Very basic. But the laundry and other services were very clean. Our first impression of Elko was that it was a very depressed area. After spending some time there and reading about the surrounding areas it seemed a lot nicer. May 21, 2007 - Rupert Idaho

Rupert, Idaho Monday, Day Four We left Baker City, Oregon on a very cold and cloudy morning. The temperature was in the low 30's and I had forgotten that I had left the back bedroom window open. Needless to say Rhonda arose from bed and immediately turned the heat on. By 7:30 A.M. we were on the road trying to get closer to Roswell, New Mexico. Shortly after leaving it started snowing.
