Aug 22, 2011 - Osburn, ID

We had no idea when we left this morning where we might be spending the night but it wasn’t long before we realized Osburn, ID was about as far as I could drive and that’s OK because we like the town and both wanted another burger from the 1313 Club in Wallace. They are excellent and Huge – split one.

Jun 3, 2011 - Osburn Idaho - then heading to Farragut

Rain has stopped, though still a bit wet, but we are heading out on the trail anyway. The bike trail is about a block away and we decided to head to Wallace. Nice ride, a bit cold. Wallace was still in sleeping mode at 10am when we arrived. We rode around town then headed back to Osborn. We did about 15 miles here. When we got back we decided that the next 2 days would be nice and we did not want to be in a car. So we said Adios to Osborn and headed to Farragut State Park. Got to Farragut and asked the volunteer for a good spot for the...

Jun 2, 2011 - Missoula to Osburn Idaho -- Back to Idaho

For once the weatherman was right, it was raining and we were going to use this day to drive back to Idaho. We were expecting terrible weather over the pass, but the rain was nowhere to be found when we hit the pass. We got to Blue Anchor RV park late morning and pulled in during light rain. Cute park, with the permanents in the back on a separate drive, sites were grass lined and under trees. We decided to get our laundry done here and settled in for a wet day. As the park started adding people, we were surprised that the owner put...

Sep 4, 2010 - Osburn, ID - again

We are back to Osburn because I forgot my hat back in June and had to return to retrieve it - missed my hat. OK, that's not the whole truth or any of the truth. We needed a place to be over the long weekend that was about half way between Sula and Wenatchee and Osburn fit the bill. So, here we were. We wanted to return to Wallace to visit the Railroad Museum and when we did, we ran into the "Under the Freeway Flea Market" that is held each Labor Day weekend. Poor ol' Wallace was nearly destroyed back in the 70s when the government wanted to...

Aug 26, 2010 - Park #3, after 6 days gone

OK, now to try again! Today is day 6 of our trip, but only the 3rd RV park. We took a chance, and (sight unseen) reserved for 2 nights here at the Blue Anchor RV Park in Osburn, ID. We were generally pleased when we arrived. It was an older park, but well kept. The hook-ups were good, and most of the sites were gravel with grass around them. After making the necessary hook-ups and settling briefly, we took off to explore around the area. Found the next town East to be intriguing, as much of it was restored old mining town buildings. We ate...

Jun 14, 2010 - On the Road Again!!!

Did you heard a loud ripping noise this morning about 8:30 and wonder what it was? Well, wonder no more. It was the sound of our trailer being ripped from the RV site in Pasco where we had parked for eight weeks! As much as we love our families and Tri-City friends, it is so good to be back on the road again. This is the live we were meant to live and not that sitting in one place week and week, month after month, year after year. Our travels this day covered about 200 miles on US 395 and I-90 bringing us to the little community of Osburn,...

May 26, 2009 - Idaho in Sight

Tuesday, May 26th (day 16): Deer Lodge, MT to Osburn, ID We woke up to a beautiful, clear day, worked on the internet laptop a bit, took down, got gas, and headed west. Saw lots of beautiful country–not quite as many ranges of snow-covered peaks today, but more pine-covered cliffs and raging rivers. Instead of antelope, we saw a few buffalo, lots of Canadian geese with goslings, several magpies, a tiny chipmunk, several bald eagles (!), and cattle and horses, as usual. About noon we stopped in Missoula for grocery shopping at a great...

Oct 9, 2008 - In Route to Osburn, Idaho

We Left the Fort Lewis area this morning and moved into our new campground in Osburn, Idaho. We were suppose to go to Yellowstone tomorrow, but it seems that we ran into an early snow storm. We will not go to Yellowstone or into South Dakota this year. Hopefully we can get out of here and head South towards Salt Lake City, Utah away from the snow and make our way back to Minnesota to see the Sportl Famiy. If not we may have to stay here a couple of days. We shall see tomorrow morning.

Jun 20, 2008 - Osburn, ID

On our trip from Moses Lake to Osburn, Idaho, we made a stop to take pictures of the mighty Columbia River and the Wild Horse Monument. Early in the afternoon we pulled into our campground and we were greeted by Greg and Judy (Big Greg on the forum). We ended up parking right behind them. The next day we went exploring in the town of Wallace, Idaho. It is a historical town where every building is registered. We spent most of the day walking and driving around town. We took a tour of a mine and that included a trolley ride around town. We...

Aug 29, 2007 - Day 79: Grand Coulee - DAM, it's a big one

We were up a little after 7:30. The Colonial Creek Campground is in a very steep valley and has such huge trees that it felt more like 6 am-rather dark. We were on our way about 9, but the scenery was so spectacular that we had to stop at 3 overlooks. Then of course it was birdy at these stops so we dawdled a bit longer to see if we had any new birds. Birds today that we hadn't seen for a while were Black-billed Magpie, Clark's Nutcracker and MacGuillivary's Warbler. By noon we were in much drier terrain, a la eastern Colorado. We were...

Aug 26, 2007 - Angela comes to town...

After leaving the Ketchum/Sun Valley area we traveled north to Salmon, Idaho. It was a nice little town with lots of fishing for Rick but there were lots of wildfires in the area and it was really smoky. The smell was really strong and there were even ashes falling from the sky. We only stayed there 2 nights because the smoke was so bad. We arrived in Osburn, Idaho on August 16. Osburn is about 60 miles east of Spokane, Washington. My sister Angela flew into Spokane on the 18th for a visit. It was really nice to see her and to spend some...
