Aug 18, 2011 - International Selkirk Loop
Today we drove most of the International Selkirk Loop, a 280-mile scenic drive encircling the Selkirk Mountains in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and southeastern British Columbia - Selkirk Loop. We needed to get gas in the car before we left, so we stopped at a Conoco station in Bonners Ferry, ID to fuel up. We pulled in, and I commented that it sure didn't look very busy. This morning was one for the record books - Dan was up and dressed before I got out of bed! He fell asleep early last night and didn't get up to watch TV like he usually does, so he was wide awake early this morning. And it was COLD again - 41 degrees! I pushed the button and the coffee started brewing. After six cups it stopped. Problem is, I was brewing 10 cups. I tried plugging it in to other outlets - nothing! So now I have TWO coffee makers that I can't use. I called the 800 number for Mr. Coffee and they said they would replace it at no cost, but it will take 6-8 business days to receive the...

Jul 25, 2011 - A Stay @ the Acreage
We drove 154 miles today. Along the way, we drove through miles and miles of forest. We are almost to the Canadian border and have crossed into Idaho from Montana. We drove big stretches of road without seeing any sign of people. There were a few small places along the road and once in a while a big meadow with some old farm buildings on them. As we were driving, I was trying to figure out how these people made a living out in the middle of nowhere. We stopped in Libby for lunch and discovered one of the cats had gotten sick. This is not...
