Jul 11, 2010 - Montpelier, Idaho to Salt Lake City, Utah
Breakfast was homemade in the breakfast room which was French toast, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, blueberry muffins, coffee, tea and juice. I overheard a man in the dining area while waiting for my french toast, he was telling someone that Montpelier is Mormon Country. We travelled to Draper Utah to The Cowabunga Bay Water Park that John and Christina fabricated in the White Water in Surrey. John did the welding and pipe work and Christina sanded and painted palm trees for this particular water park (we saw the blue prints for this...

Jul 10, 2010 - Yellowstone National Park to Montpellier Idaho
This morning was overcast, cool and a little windy the temperature was between 16- 21 degrees depending on where we were along the way to Yellowstone. We travelled to some more Geyser's today along the way to Old Faithful. At the Old Faithful Lodge we sat on the covered deck in these beautiful handmade rocking chairs, Shawn and I enjoyed a coffee together. Old Faithful gave a wonderful "show" at 1 pm, we were on the back side of the wooden walk way for a better view and better pictures to show the height of old Faithful compared to the...

Jun 25, 2010 - Yellowstone NP to Montpelier Idaho
Yellowstone National Park to Montpelier Idaho 385 miles (total trip miles 2,337) Because of the traffic yesterday in the park we decided to leave the hotel early. It was drizzling a bit so we put our rain gear on just in case. The traffic was light so we cruised around the park checking out the areas we had not seen yet. The herd of Bison we had seen the night before was still grazing by the river. From the west entrance of the park we went to Yellowstone Lake, it was a beautiful ride with the lake in the foreground and snowcapped...

Jun 14, 2010 - Journey North
On the road again. We left Estes Park on a rainy Saturday morning. We had done our preparations the night before. So it wasn't too bad of a take off, even though we got pretty wet attending to last minute things. Dumping at the station, etc. As planned, we went out to breakfast first thing in the morning. After a great breakfast, we took a ride through town to practice our departure route one more time. It gets kind of tight going through town, but eliminated a steep climb going the way we came in. We located the barely visible 'truck...

Sep 4, 2008 - Finally - a Moose!
What an exciting day yesterday was! The weather was iffy in the early morning- a few showers- but it cleared by 11 so off we went to South Jenny Lake and the Hidden Falls trail. It is a 3 mile hike each way but there is a boat that takes you within .5 miles of the falls. We decided to walk there while the weather was good and boat back. It was a very rocky trail. You really had to watch your footing BUT it was so worth it! All the way up you had the Tetons right in front of you and the stream with cascades on the right of you. Ever so...

Aug 11, 2008 - Colter Bay Cmpg, Grand Teton to Montpelier ID KOA
Monday I set my alarm for the 2nd time on this trip in order to ensure that we left Colter Bay Cmpg timely to arrive at the Jenny Lake Ferry. This cmpg has full hookups so we were not dry camping and had water, electricity and sewer to unhook. Yea we did it and were on the road by 0845. Upon arrival at Jenny Lake we found parking easily and all headed to the boat. It was a short 30 minute ride from the east dock on Jenny Lake to the west dock for some hiking trails. Dad, Mom and I did not have on our hiking boots but we set out on a 1/2...

Jun 6, 2008 - Montpelier, Idaho
Our morning in Provo got off to a bad start. We always check that the light on the Jeep work with the lights on Arvy. They are wired to by in synch. Not so much this morning. The passenger side tail light on the Jeep did not work with Arvy. We went back to the nearby mall to the Sears automotive store. The manager offered to let one of his guys change the bulb for us if we bought the bulb from him. We did and he did. But, that didn't fix the problem...still no glowing light. So, using our "Next Exit" book we found an RV dealer off I15 North...

Jul 17, 2007 - Montpelier, Idaho
With our travel plans interrupted we had to rearraange our stops. Our next stop was the Montpelier KOA. It was just a one nighter and it was tucked away up in the mountains so there was no internet or cell service. We went to town and after about 5 minutes we had seen everything there was to see so we stopped for a real restaurant meal and really enjoyed it. Tank was in the shade so he was a happy camper. I forgot to take pictures on the one nighters. I guess there was just not enough down time to think about it. When we got up the next...

The drive from Promontory back through Brigham City was flat Great Salt Lake plain, but the drive on to Logan was a constant climb, and more climbing to the 7,000'+ overlook to Bear Lake. We stopped in Garden City, the last Utah town and got one of the raspberry shakes they are famous for, then pushed on to this KOA campground (or as they say, Kampground) where we have WiFi and can update this thing. Tomorrow the Tetons.
